Why Node Eight Exists
Africa's startup ecosystem has a structural problem. Despite growing numbers of incubators, accelerators, and investors, the failure rate of early-stage ventures — especially social ventures — remains high.
The reasons are systemic: ideas that haven't been validated against real markets, a shortage of engineers capable of building products that scale, founders who aren't in it for the long haul, and a financing gap that leaves promising social businesses stranded.
Node Eight has evolved to fix this — not by adding another incubator to the list, but by doing something structurally different. We build ventures ourselves, from the inside out.
A studio, Not an Incubator
Most entrepreneurship support organisations wait for founders to bring ideas. We don't.
Node Eight conducts its own research, identifies high-impact opportunities, builds and tests prototypes internally, then recruits exceptional operator-founders to lead independent companies.
