How it all started

Node Eight (back then called Ho Node) started in 2017 with a simple but bold belief: Young people in secondary cities should not be left out of the innovation economy.

Our first “office” was an abandoned maternity clinic  in Ho—a green, artsy, and youthful city in Ghana. We cleaned it up, added a few chairs, a whiteboard, and began hosting small tech meetups and workshops.

People showed up. The energy was real. And we knew we were onto something.

Today, Node Eight is much more than a meetup space. We’ve grown into an innovation foundationtalent hub, startup studio, and project partner working across Ghana to build skills, launch startups, and spark change.

And the name?

“Node” represents a place of sprouting, ignition and growth. It also honors our first space, where new life (literally!) once began. Just like those newborns, we believe every idea and dream deserves a chance to grow.

What began with a handful of dreamers (angels who funded us) in a rundown clinic room is now a launchpad for Africa’s next generation of creators, coders, and changemakers.
