Do you feel like your voice and the voices of your peers are often overlooked in local decision-making? Many young people encounter barriers when engaging in governance—whether it’s a lack of knowledge about how local systems work or the misconception that their opinions don’t matter. This disconnect can lead to disengagement from community issues that directly affect their lives.
Now, more than ever, we need passionate young leaders to step up and advocate for their peers. That’s why we are excited to announce Cohort 3 of the Youth Leadership and Advocacy Training! This initiative empowers young people aged 18-29 to become active citizens, participate in the governance of their city and spur their peers and communities to do the same.
What Is The Youth Leadership and Advocacy Training All About?
The Youth Leadership and Advocacy Training Cohort 3 aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage effectively in local governance. Participants will explore various challenges that young people face in becoming active community members and learn strategies to overcome these barriers.
Our goal is to break down the barriers that prevent youth participation and create a movement toward active civic engagement. This empowers young people to influence local decision-making, advocate for their communities, and cultivate a sense of belonging and responsibility.
