Ongoing community impact projects:

Ghana Open Park Library, Ho

The Ghana Open Park Library, Ho is a community library set inside the newly revitalized Ho Youth Park. It is designed to inspire young people to read, learn, and connect in a welcoming outdoor environment.

 The library will feature outdoor shelves, comfortable seating, and a growing collection of books in English, Ewe, German, and French. 

Young and Safe

Young and Safe is a comprehensive project aimed at making Ho a youth friendly city by enhancing the overall wellbeing and participation of young people in city of Ho Through a series of targeted initiatives, the project seeks to address various aspects of youth empowerment including civic engagement, sexual and reproductive health education, mental health support, social wellbeing, digital employability, and strategic partnerships. Partners: LoveAid Foundation, Ho Municipal Assembly, and Ghana Education Service, Foundation Botnar.

Coding for Kids

Coding for Kids initiative (C4K), is  a digital literacy program developed by AmaliTech. C4K aims to offer coding education, stimulate creativity, and carve out a career trajectory for kids aged between 9 and 14 years, with a particular focus on underprivileged communities.

Free your mind

Free-your-mind is a youth-powered mental health program by Wheels Ghana, Free Your Mind uses skateboarding as more than a sport—it's therapy on wheels. Targeted at teens in Ho, the project offers a safe space for skating, creative expression, mental health education, and peer support to improve academic performance. With weekly skate sessions, monthly wellness talks, and digital creative workshops, we’re helping young people stay balanced, confident, and connected as they navigate life’s pressures.

_Past Digital Skills Projects & Partnerships: 

Google Digital Skills Program

This collaboration provided scholarships to 150 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. They earned professional certificates on Coursera in IT Support, UX Design, Data Analytics, and Project Management, preparing them to become skilled employees or successful entrepreneurs.

Pre-MEST Digital Marketing Program

The Pre-MEST program equipped 60 young people with digital marketing skills over an eight-week training period. Participants gained practical experience through four-week internships with both local and international companies.

Hubiquitous IoT Hackathon

We hosted a three-day Hubiquitous IoT hackathon where participants learned to use IoT devices and built their own projects. Innovations included a flood detection system for coastal areas, an automated home appliance, and a smart warehouse.

Digital Skills Job Fair

The event, themed "Building Resilient Software Engineers for the Job Market," included a symposium on career readiness and a CV review session, where young people received feedback on their resumes from industry experts

eSkills4Girls

This project trained 50 women, including smallholder farmers and traders from Adaklu-Kojobi and Adaklu-Have, to acquire the digital skills necessary to boost their participation in today's business environment.

National Female PreTech Program

A 3-week initiative that introduced ladies to foundational skills in mobile app development and other technologies, empowering them for career advancement and personal growth.

National Mobile App Development Program

The training program empowered young people with coding skills to build mobile apps, tackle real-world problems, and create life-changing innovations.

National Digital Media Training

This program equipped young people with digital media skills like marketing, creative writing, photography, videography, and graphic and sound design.

National Web Development Program

This 6-week web technology program equipped young people (18-25) with the skills needed to start their own ventures or land a remote job

She Is Creative (Photography)

Ten women were empowered through a 5-day photography bootcamp. Each participant was given a camera to practice and gain the skills needed to break into the male-dominated photography industry.

National AI Training Program

This intensive AI training program prepared young people to build and deploy real-world AI solutions, giving them the essential skills, tools, and technologies.

SheLoves Innovation

The initiative trained 40 women in the fundamentals of digital marketing, inspiring them to pursue new career paths in tech.

She Is Creative

50 women were trained in the concepts and tools of graphic design. The program successfully helped to bridge the gender divide in Ghana’s creative economy.

Unlocking Women & Technology

UWAT empowered 30 women by providing them technology training and business development training to start their own business.

_Past Entrepreneurship Projects & Partnerships: 

National Digital Incubator Program

The incubation program guided startup founders through Design Thinking processes like empathy, ideation, and prototyping. They also learned about business models and product development. The training successfully helped them create fully functional products with traction, which they presented at the Ghana Start-up Summit.

SDG Incubation Program

The three-month SDG Incubation Program empowered three startups—Emblem Farms, WAC, and ViztaEdu—to create innovative solutions for critical Sustainable Development Goals. The program equipped them with vital skills in business management, finance, and market access, helping them make a tangible impact on issues such as Zero Hunger, Quality Education, and Clean Water.

SDG Innovation Challenge

This event brought together ten Ghanaian startups focused on solving problems aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The founders pitched their ventures to a four-judge panel during the Volta Region's SDGs Day Out

Ho Startup Summit

Six startups pitched their digital solutions to the judges and audiences under the theme “The Role of eCommerce in Transforming the Local Economy for Job Creation and Economic Development.”

Node X Design Thinking Workshop

Node X is a two-day (2) Design Thinking Bootcamp designed to equip individuals and organizations with creative problem-solving skills for today’s fast-paced world. The interactive workshop provided participants with the design thinking tools and mindset to create out-of-the-box solutions to emerging problems.

Volta Trade Fair Innovation Challenge

Six startups from diverse sectors—including Tourism, Health Innovation, E-Commerce, Clean Energy, and AgriTech—pitched their businesses to a three-judge panel. The winners received cash prizes.

Pre-MEST Startup Creation Program

The Startup Creation Cohort supported young Ghanaians in building and launching early-stage tech ventures. It transformed entrepreneurial ideas into businesses by providing training, mentorship, resources, and funding to develop future startups.

GTL Pre-Accelerator Program

The pre-accelerator program supported young digital entrepreneurs, helping them refine their business models, product market fit and financial model for scaling.

ICE Bootcamp

The Bootcamp focused on training 32 aspiring entrepreneurs in business leadership, ideation, and entrepreneurship. Participants learned about needs assessment, business models, and pitching, culminating in a final pitch of their business ideas and growth plans.

National Entrepreneurship Business Support

The training equipped 100 entrepreneurs across the Volta Region with the skills to create effective business plans and manage their ventures for attracting funding.

National AI Incubator

The AI incubator program supported young digital entrepreneurs to refine, prototype and bring their AI powered ideas to market.

Culture & Museum Hackathon

The 48-hour culture hackathon brought together developers, designers, artists, historians, and museum officials to create innovative solutions for the Volta Regional Museum. Participants tackled challenges facing museums in Ghana.
