June 14, 20212 startups shine at Local Startup Investment Pitch Summit
July 3, 2021
Digital innovation has transformed businesses around the world and in the era of COVID-19, has garnered an encouraging acceptance and a shift towards a new way of doing business.
Business leaders at both startups and established companies are making changes in support of these innovations.
To honour local startup efforts, the Local Startup Investor Pitch Summit (LSIPS) will be held in the Volta Region on July, 3, 2021, as an avenue to create viable and sustainable jobs in the region.
The project is a partnership between the Ho Node Hub as an implementing partner and the Ghana Tech Lab with funding from the MasterCard Foundation.
It is geared with a mission to make the region more vibrant, accessible and inclusive for startups to initiate their growth.
The event aims to, among other things, be used as a platform for start-up founders to pitch their innovative ideas to local investors, business leaders and to the local community.
The Summit also aims to create easy access to funding and business support for the early-stage startups.
The Local Startup Summit creates an auspicious platform for investors, innovators and entrepreneurs to share ideas, experiences and explore areas of mutual interest and collaborate to ensure the progress of the digital economy.
The Event which would also be used to promote and celebrate the startup culture within the local ecosystem and to encourage entrepreneurship among the youth comes off after a six (6) week digital media training for startup founders executed by the Ho Node Hub.
Pitch Journey
Our trainees during the period gained invaluable knowledge in Digital Media, Digital Marketing, Photography, Videography, Sound Design, Content Creation and Compelling Storytelling.
With the upcoming Pitch, our Trainees have quickly mobilized themselves into Teams with each team member equipped with a unique specialty.
In the dying embers of the training, the teams were coached and guided to prepare their respective pitch decks.
Our startup founders were introduced to the essentials of an Investment pitch and the intricate and eye-catching details needed for a successful pitch.
They were also reminded of the importance of employing their well honed leadership skill, deemed crucial for every profession in their presentation.
The summit will kick off with a panel of leading experts in a discussion on the summit theme: “Digital Media in business and job creation in this era” as they explore the impact of innovative technology on businesses in our local ecosystem.
Team Pitch
Pitch Teams will pitch their convincing ideas and solutions to a panel of judges and members from our Local Investor Network and would be scored accordingly.
Judges will provide real-time feedback to pitch contestants and select winners with the most advanced solutions.
Awards would be presented to the 1st and 2nd place startups who would progress to the Incubation track of the Base Innovation Program while the rest of the trainees move unto the Employability track which encompasses a paid internship of 2 months in a reputable organisation.
